Ferrari number plates are carrying on their enormous rise in price at auction as yet another Ferrari related personalised registration number fetches over £100,000.
458 SA was sold recently at a DVLA number plate auction for exactly £100,000 on the hammer, which is then suject to auctioneers fees, VAT & DVLA transfer fee.
The new 458 Speciale Aperta is the most hardcore V8 roadster that Ferrari has ever produced. In essence, Ferrari takes the 458 Spider and treats it to the same track-focussed upgrades that transform 458 Italia coupe into 458 Speciale. It then adds an A; it’s a reduction of Aperta, Italian for open.
In 2014 the private plate '25 O' fetched over £500,000 at auction setting a new public auction price record.
The plate was bought by John Collins, who, as owner of Berkshire-based Talacrest, is regarded as one of the world’s leading collectors and dealers of classic Ferraris.
He bought the plate three hours after successfully buying the ‘250 L’ plate for £130,320. Both sums include fees and take the total amount paid by the businessman to £648,320.
